Celebration Weekend! +Freebie

Hello Happy People! Yummy Weekend!  Birthday-ing, Scrap Shopping, DIY-ing, Gardening, and Mother’s Day-ing! Phew! Monday was a good recovery day. Just a WEE bit of mowing yesterday and some pond digging. Let me start with the birthday! How Great was it?? Absolutely Great! A quick note on being the planner bee and your own Birthday: Since I started planning my own birthday I have NOTHING but FUN!  Waiting for others to “get” my birthday going sounded nice, but if your family...

My Margarita Valentine

Saturday, February 12, 2011 Jack and I did our Valentine’s Date today instead of Monday. We have tried doing it on the night of, but Jack is always tired from work and we both like avoiding gobs of people. Have you seen a restaurant on Valentine’s Day? We would sit there with the rising tide of conversation hitting our ears wishing we could talk to each other. Well this time we jumped in with both feet, declared Saturday the day and off we went to this new place we heard great things...

I Was Golf-Napped!

On Friday I laid out my weekend…it was to be a working weekend. So much to catch up on in the yard now that it stopped raining and the sun had dried things up. There were plants to get ready for winter, grass to cut, pictures to take of the last blooms, the garden set up now so I can remember it in the dead of winter, you know the drill.  Fall is busy for everyone. Inside I was working on a few kits, and some scripts for PSP.  I was going to catch up!  Too good to be true, I should...

Uh-huh! Road Trip

Jack and Nate driving route 66, and the cooler nights signaling the end of summer is near get’s me thinking of road trips.  Our family took one nearly every summer. My parents met, courted and married in Wisconsin. Their families lived about 6 miles apart in different towns so a visit to Wisconsin was always about taking “ the kids” to visit the extended family. Since we were an Air Force family that traveled all over and Dad got out of the military in Arizona, that is where we...

The Shoe Tree on Historic Route 66

This is just too funny, since I posted about AJ being a pill and hopping on my computer, which he has been doing all day for 7 weeks now!  Now its afternoon and he hasn’t tried it! Not even a little. Isn’t that odd?  Still would love to hear from all you folks if you have ideas on how to train this ruffian of ours.  He will start again, this is for certain! __________ Gratitude going out to the lady in the Green Sedan who mimed to me my tire was low! You are a life saver! Also, more...

Everybody Bagna!

Everybody Bagna!

Okay not everybody, imagine the garlic-breath! * Hoot!* My Hubby and Nathan left Friday to attend the Milroy Family Bagna in Okmulgee Oklahoma. How’s this for ironic…  Bagna Caudaor ( Bon-yah) is originally from Italy. Yet the Milroy clan is definitively Scottish. They look, act  and drink like Scots. Yet, every fall they get together and observe this obscure Italian tradition. The Milroy’s are Jack’s mom’s family. I guess I should call this the Corbel Family because it all...

88 degrees…

Holy Smokes! It was a sweat free weekend! Yes! We worked hard and Yes! we did go outside!! It was COOL! 88 degrees! WOW! In August? Cool in Texas? I was there and I still don’t believe it! The internet is abuzz with “fall talk” and I disregard it because we, Texans could still be sweating on Halloween Night, it just doesn’t start being cool until Mid-October around here. It will heat up again in a few days so I am going to stop talking about this now. Don’t want to jinx it! We...
