New Faucet

New Faucet

Well after months of working GREAT! my much loved Bread Box Suburban, Dana started acting up again. Engine dies when rolling to a stop or at idle. All was well and no one got smooshed when I rolled into the intersection with a putt-putt gasp. Thank you God! I babied her back home and even managed to get her parked right with no power steering…the big girl needs muscle at the wheel when she is coasting engine dead. Thanks for showing me how to do that, Dad. I was so looking forward to a...

Alas Poor Monitor I Knew You Well…

Wednesday Philomena finally gave up and quit! She was a Ten year old Phillips SVGA monitor I clung stubbornly to as others moved to LCD. I promised Jack I would upgrade when she gave out each time he mentioned buying a new monitor. He mentioned it often as Phil turned that sickly color yellow that all old computer plastics do.  Well the time came. Bye-Bye Sweet Love! Clearing the Deck Inspecting the Wall Mount We had the wall mount on another wall and it had to be removed, Annika...

Jack Fixed Lights! WHOOT!

The light in the laundry room has not worked in over a year. It just went out one day and since the roof leaked in that area we attributed it to that. We fixed that section of roof and Jack got ready to fix the light in there on Sunday. Jack got the “bright” idea to switch the old light fixture in the kitchen with a new light we have been oogling and use the old kitchen light fixture in the Laundry Room…which is no longer the laundry room since we moved those appliances …Tool Room? I...

Love These!

Is it safe to blog? It is! Gotta make this quick with storms all around. Electricity off and on today. Bless You, Pole Fairies!  Reminder: back up your wham-bangs today, never know when the electricity is going to power down at YOUR house.  Another Reminder: Take This Survey, help me choose a new name! Here are some names folks have written in. LOVE These! Thanks to all who...

Cabinets Hung

There is one thing I have learned from my brother Randy and his sweet wife, Wendy… Wendy, Stella, & Randy   …is to let Jack run the show when we are doing DIY together. They are SO in tune with each other. Its delightful. Jack and I will get there someday. Hanging the cabinets went really well. Jack in charge and me assistant to the man in charge. Jack is very slow and methodical, that should appeal to me as I am exactly that too, but he is slower and more methodical than me!...

Cabinet Hardware Hunt

My dude-man Jack was a wonder over the weekend! He actually went shopping at IKEA with me, and not just any IKEA, the deluxe showroom in Frisco, Texas …on a Saturday!  Now Jack likes shopping, but not when everyone else does it. And we weren’t actually shopping, we were HUNTING. We bought this great desk and wall cabinets from these nice folks on Craigslist. Buying used has its advantages. We paid next to nothing for them, but not everything is neat and tidy. There was hardware...

Happy Tuesday!

Oh! What a great weekend! Dusty, furniture moving, and hunting for stuff kinda weekend! Still great though! I think I slept all day yesterday! LOL! So worth it to have a Monday full of naps! Whoot! Saturday we just sat around mostly, hung out. Enjoyed a Lethal Weapon Marathon! Weee! Then we got hungry, and I wanted to take to boys to the NEW CHINA since they had never been, but they bailed on me. ( imagine me pulling them each horizontal while they try to hold onto the bed posts) So Jack and...
