Nathan Saves.
Nate and I went to our friend Kay’s to pick up some cages for acclimatizing possums before release. We keep them in smaller cages inside when they are babies, but to increase their chances of survival in the wild we give them a chance at what it feels like to be outdoors and tune up their possum senses. Kay was fine enough to give us some of her outdoor caging so we didn’t have to make our own. Phew! Saves us SO much time! Thanks Kay! So we headed to her house and Nate and I hear a baby...

Hey Folks! Hope you all are having a wonderful week. Busier than usual since the heat and hot winds are drying out the garden plants. Hauling hose take time and make me tired. Not really the hose thing, but the in and out of the house and living by a timer. Knowing I have to do it again tomorrow also make me tired. Exhausting. I will do another month of this and then I will begin to fade like the plants. Rained last night a bit. Sweeet! We might soon go back to only night...

Hey Honies! Friday Morning, the boys and I made 3 pans of brownies, and 1 blueberry cake. We are feeding the freezer to get baked goods done in one heating of the house. Summer here and each night I stress out the AC during peak energy usage hours making dinner. So baking in the cool of the morning and doing bulk prep for multiple dinners at that time as well is helping keep our usage from getting out of hand. Especially since the sun in shrinking the garden plants and our well pump is running...

Hey-ya Friends! For the first time in months I woke up naturally pain free! WHOO HOO! SO Good! Yesterday I went to see Dr. Squishy aka Dr. Bishop and since I was feeling well enough to drive myself, didn’t take my pain meds. I was a little worried about the “squishy” without my little helpers, but I thought it best to worry a little than drive drugged. The fact that I could even drive myself and not spend 2 days in bed paying for it was a win. I won’t lie it hurt a bunch being...

We were together on Christmas our little group of 4 and even though we spent some of it in the ER we each had many chances to see what Christmas means and were soundly blessed by it. Its the ER nurse who will get done at 7am to go home a cook a Giant Christmas Meal to be surrounded by family and friends. Its the ER doc who can only spend 3 minutes on each patient and wishes he could do more, his sad face when he...

Making Pies today! Weee! I like to do this earlier than the day before the big feed, but you know sometimes I just have to be thankful for being able to make them at all and smile smile smile! Nathan informed me at a shopping trip a few weeks back that he doesn’t like pie. He is a cake man. Okay, its a blow, but I can handle it. At least we agree that Brownies are universal common ground. Today’s Pies will be Mincemeat, Pumpkin, and Chocolate Cream. I will also be attempting a cake...
