Parker Meets Mystery Guest
Last night Parker Muttley wanted out really bad. He never wants out, he just goes out when some other dog or cat goes. Flicking on the porch light I look to see if there’s a wild animal on the porch. Habit. Nothing. Out he goes, beyond the porch light and hiss, slash, rustle, rustle Parker starts yelping like he has lost a limb. With speed I never knew she had, Gracie Dane is out the door and falling off the porch, rolling, rolling, and rolls right up onto her feet. Nothing gets to mess...

Nate and I went to our friend Kay’s to pick up some cages for acclimatizing possums before release. We keep them in smaller cages inside when they are babies, but to increase their chances of survival in the wild we give them a chance at what it feels like to be outdoors and tune up their possum senses. Kay was fine enough to give us some of her outdoor caging so we didn’t have to make our own. Phew! Saves us SO much time! Thanks Kay! So we headed to her house and Nate and I hear a baby...

Update on Gracie Dane. She had a bad fall a week ago. I thought she really broke something, but she struggled to stand and trotted off. She has been after Parker to play today. Parker is a bit afraid to since I am shooing him out of Gracie’s way constantly… he thinks he will get into trouble. So he keeps running away from her and coming over to me with questioning looks. Not ready to trust it all just yet. Gracie wanting to play is a good sign! Weeee! I am guessing she weighs 100-105 lbs...

Hey Folks! Hope you all are having a wonderful week. Busier than usual since the heat and hot winds are drying out the garden plants. Hauling hose take time and make me tired. Not really the hose thing, but the in and out of the house and living by a timer. Knowing I have to do it again tomorrow also make me tired. Exhausting. I will do another month of this and then I will begin to fade like the plants. Rained last night a bit. Sweeet! We might soon go back to only night...

Duck Update: That is “ Duck “ with a D, Kristine. D as in Dysfunctionally-tired. This was some weeks ago, slow in editing the video ( loads and loads) Duckies are doing well waiting for the pond liner to arrive. They spend time under the bushes and in the shade. They like to get sprayed with the hose. Vlad monkey-ed the dilly-wacker off the sprinkler head he messed with it so much. Now it just shoots straight into the air. Gotta find the dilly-wacker so we can stick it back...

Hey Honies! Friday Morning, the boys and I made 3 pans of brownies, and 1 blueberry cake. We are feeding the freezer to get baked goods done in one heating of the house. Summer here and each night I stress out the AC during peak energy usage hours making dinner. So baking in the cool of the morning and doing bulk prep for multiple dinners at that time as well is helping keep our usage from getting out of hand. Especially since the sun in shrinking the garden plants and our well pump is running...
