I discovered Calm Radio.

Truth? Jack showed me, I resisted. He showed me anyway. *grin*

I often get distracted when I am designing. I hop up walk around come back, well sometimes I come back! LOL! This the house of distraction. Always a dog or cat to play with, a bright mind to get into a discussion with. Its great stuff, but its hard on my design time. It can take me all weekend to finish something this way if I sleep in and wake at the same time as my family. I mentioned to Jack I needed something running in the background, no words to stick in my head and not too familiar that I got caught up in following the music in my head. He fixed me up…

If you have ITunes ( oh no, not ITunes, that’s what I said)  you can get Calm Radio for free. There are commercials because they are free sample stations, but its just a woman’s voice talking quietly. If it bothers me its an easy click to another CR channel for a bit.  Click “Radio” in your ITunes Library>Classical

I like the sleep channel actually! LOL! It just what I need after a coffee! HOOT!

If you sit down to be creative and all those other things you could be doing pop into your head…this works to banish those thoughts. I get more focused design time, finish or get to a good place to stop sooner and then go live it up with my family. Less frustration! More Family.  Just the same ITunes can bite me.

Speaking of less frustrations, we are about to ruffle the house up a bit.

I got this email yesterday from Midge at Great Dane Angel Network. We adopted our Ted, Harvey and Dove from this group over the years and fostered for them a few times. Of course when I get an email from Midge, who I love to hear from, I cringe a little. She is going to have pictures of a sad little Great Dane who needs a foster home.

This time its Gracie, 4+ year old Great Dane Girl with ribs showing and a lick sore she can’t stop messing with.

I often pass on the danes Midge emails the group about because I know I can’t help them…they are too healthy! We are better suited to the sick ones, the skinny ones, the ones with long term care needs. We are just messed up like that, give us the ones no one else wants. They have a good life here for a little while. If they get better, they find forever homes. If they can’t be adopted because of their issues, they stay here. Gracie is going to take some time to get her weight up, her sore healed, but she is by far the healthiest “looking” Dane we will have fostered.

The wheels are in motion. Midge is picking up this cutie pie today, we get Gracie from Midge,  we swing by the vet for a quick look see by Dr Young. Then home to intro her to our crew and get her settled in.

Once she has been here a few days and knows we are not going to eat her for dinner she will get a real bath, ear cleaning and nail trim. The big job will be distracting her from her lick sore, which will never heal if she keeps picking. ( did your hear your mother, just then? I was sure… Mom! Mom? …outta my head please.  *grin*)

Heading off for more coffee, chaps! Last morning with the old-calm dane crew, tomorrow there is a new sheriff in town. They will be sniffing butts for a week! HOOT!

I’m glad she’s coming to Bean town. I have a feeling she will enjoy the spoiling…

Can’t resist a dog that looks at you like that.
I have a rescue dog – she’s 11 now and has a food intolerance so when I get a look like that of her I just have to harden my heart – otherwise she comes out in a terrible rash. She also feels the need to chew everypart of herself – which of course makes things worse.
Luckerly she loves our vet because she gives her treats!

Thanks Honey! That real blood on those elements and papers! …and maybe some brain matter squeezed out too! Kit making doesn’t come easy for me like it does for all you Artiste Professionales! *my lame fake italian*

New Foster, Gracie is going to be a looker some day!

    Hey Carole!
I just ordered a Thunder Shirt for our house to try it out for our Dove girl who has fears, storms, gunshots, fireworks, bubble wrap…all the serious deadlies. LOL!

Also want to have one around for Gracie in case her licking sore is a stress-related security thing. See if it calms her so she will leave that wound alone.

Will blog about it when it comes, it might help your Fur Sweetie, if it helps mine.

Oh My…Gracie is beautiful! I know she’ll be well taken care of in Bean town (Thanks ‘Stine!), and that she’ll get lots of love and attention. And sometimes that’s what’s needed to heal. And Huckleberry Heart is gorgeous!
