Jack did it again!
I was having REAL problems with my computer. It was giving me fits all day and just generally acting like a bad uncle at a family gathering.
I hate slamming Jack with problems to fix as soon as he hits the door, but this time I was under the gun.
“I have responsibilities”, I whined.
He sat down to look at it, I went to start dinner. I wasn’t even started really, when I hear happy sounds from the computer and Jack is craning his head around for his atta-boys with a GIANT grin on his face! Sweet Macaroni Salad! That man is a joy! He has a gift with computers that is for sure! As fast as I can break them he can fix them.
Trust me I broke it good this last time.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Jack Honey!
I will have a freebie for you tomorrow, not because Jack didn’t fix the computer fast enough, but because I can’t post it ju-ust yet. I can’t even give you a hint, because once I get started talking about a secret…out it comes! * Shrug* …can’t help it! LOL!
Gratitude List
The weather here has been very dry, all the abundant growth from our very wet Spring has suffered terribly. Many have given up on their gardens. We have been fortunate. We have many trees and bamboo to make our place shady long into the morning and early in the afternoon. Even the hot wind that dries out everything is less here on our hilltop than it is elsewhere. because of all this cover. Still between the sun and the wind I am losing this battle. I can’t haul enough hose or drip enough water it seems. The struggle continues. * weak grin*
- I am thankful for a well that supplies all we need.
- Imagining how sad it would be if there were no garden to tend, I twice give thanks for the gift of water.
- I am thankful for a healthy, happy Hubby! I give thanks for Jack ( not just because he is a computer geek with mystical skills…* grin*) because when Jack is happy its contagious!
- I am thankful for no where to go today, no appointments, no calls to make, nothing to do except create. A rare day!
- I am thankful to music. All kinds. It gets me though the tough times as well as the good ones. Sharing my favorites with my children is better than discovering it in the first place.
- I thank my 5th grade music teacher ( her name escapes me at the moment) for her love of music rubbed off on me. For her enthusiastic arm movements and the games she played so we would “ hear” the different instruments. I think of you each time I get a new piece of music, especially if there is an Oboe in it!
- I will sit up in bed at 2am and remember your name…I do this memory weirdness so often I know how it will go! *HOOT*
- For the Painted Bunting I saw yesterday. I didn’t know such a bird existed. And they do, very well in fact, right here in my corner of the world and have for longer than people!! Such a gorgeous bird!
…not my photos. I just stood there like a post, while one just like this flitted around the waterhole. It even nipped at the bird food we have been encouraging to grow there, but the plant is still growing so the Bunting acted like it was too tough to get the seeds off the plant. It sure gave a couple-three good size tugs though!
I found through researching it, I have seen these birds more than I knew. The females and immature males look like this…

Hey, Lady!
How nice that your ‘knight in shining armor’ has some technological smarts. LOL Jack sounds like a terrific person.
I will have to make this short, perhaps, come back. I’ve been really down in my back, lately. I just wanted to wish you well and check in with you. I have come to the conclusion that we never will find what we are looking for. It’s the journey. We musn’t let it pass us by before we notice the path and where it takes us, and who we meet along the way.
I love reading about your journey. Thanks. Oh, and thank you for the lovely designs. The frames, butterfly flower and Baja Man are wonderful. Of course, I always love what you make for the DSO Color challenge. I went and signed up for it, myself, this month. Tee-Hee! I just need to package them up and post everything. I went a little crazy with it, so, I’ll have to trim it back. LOL
Well, I have certainly enjoyed hanging out on your blog this afternoon. Til later…
Hugs,
Su
How “lucky” you are to have a hubby with computer smarts. While my hubby is a wonderful provider and very kind he can barely open his e-mail. LOL
Oh what a gorgeous bird and once again how “lucky” you are. We don’t have pretty birds in SW Kansas. We have Doves, Kites and have had Buzzards circling the sky. I mean a lot of them and we can’t figure out why they are in town or what there is that’s dead that they want to feed on. Spooky for sure! Our town is only about a mile and a half from one side to the other so it’s not far until you reach farmland. The other day there was a deer in our alley behind our home and that’s a first for me, too.
Were your ears burning this afternoon??? I was visiting on the phone with Linda Walton of Bon Scrapitit Designs and I was telling her about you and, of course, she knew of you. She has been a dear friend of mine since we both started out at 3Scrapateers almost 5 years ago on their Creative Team.
As we were discussing you and how “sweet” you are it suddenly dawned on us that you have the same last name as Bunny Cates and we wondered if you are related. Linda is now working with Bunny and I am so excited for her and I will be CTing for Linda. Fun times ahead for sure.
I hope you have had a fun day designing. I can hardly wait to see what you have created. It’s always a treat.
Have a lovely evening.
Big Hugs!

This is very true dear, I have heard it said different, but never better than you stated it. I could not agree more!!
Su Dear, did you do the Color Challenge? I checked your blog but I didn’t see it. I will go page by page through the color challenge forums if you say its there, but I am a bit lazy to look through that many pages on a might be. Forgive me for that, please. I SO hope you did.
Get well soon, my dear!
Hugs!

LOL! Carole… See how great our hubbies are in their own way! LOVE it!
We didn’t have any birds until we started feeding and watering them on a whim, now there are everywhere in the yard and all year round. There is some proof to that saying about feeding strays and you have a friend for life! LOL! Its surely true with birds. We have alot of buzzards too. We used to have a dog that would go crazy when vultures flew over, he knew them by their shadows and would go nuts! Of course we thought it was a hoot, because he was no bigger than a vulture himself!! LOL! I love to see deer, we don’t very often so its a real treat!
Linda Walton, Yes, I have seen her work on DSO )( Kim B’s Color Challenge) I love her goodies! I had to think about her a minute, I think she the one with great music on her blog…That’s Amore! is one I remember the most! I love that song!! LOL! It just makes me feel like dancing and that is not something I do well or often! LOL!
Congratulations on making her CT! HOW Great is THAT!! WHOO HOO!
For those wondering about Linda here is her URL…

Spoiler Alert… Linda is a new designer at DSO. But don’t tell anyone! AND don’t tell them I told you!! Phew! Almost blew it there! LOL! Okay its on Bunny’s blog, so I am not letting anything out of the bag…but I am a terrible secret keeper. I blab!
I sure wish I was related to Bunny, she would make a great sister! I think she is wonderful …and SO talented!! But sadly, no we are not related. I bet we sound alike though…a bit twangy! She is from Kentucky and I wasted no time turning twangy once we landed here in Texas! LOL! We could be the twang sisters! LOL!
For those wondering about Bunny Cates. She is the darling dominatrix at DSO ( I hear she has a thing for whips! Go Girl!) She recently did a blog make over at her place and its AWESOME! She does great hybrid work and makes how to videos…Wonderful stuff! Love her!
