Its been raining for a few days. LOVE it! Texas needs a good soak. The cold and wet brings the birds to our feeders in mass. Dillon ( son) poured out additional food and today while I was letting the dogs out for a pee during a stop in the wet stuff, I was treated to an awesome sunrise made even better by where I was standing. See I have to watch the dogs pee. They are that spoiled. No matter the weather I am standing out there congratulating them like its potty training. “Good Boy!” “Great Piddle.” “See, I knew you had to go.” Its expected.
I do this SO often I sometimes forget if I am outside to potty a dog or not. My mind wanders. Suprised? I didn’t think so.
This day, I am struck still by the sunrise and everyone is peeing so for a good amount of time my mind wandered. I come around later to find I am standing right in the middle of this circle of bird food. Tiny sparrows feeding all around me. Hop, hop. Some bounce on and off my shoes! There are no words to describe the feeling. Let me try one anyway, Super! …naw. I thought if I breathed they would fly away. So I held it and watched the sun strain through the clouds and felt … blessed memory… There’s the words.
Gratitude list:
For the Trash Guys who come in all kinds of weather to take my unwanteds. Thanks for the little howdy waves each week.
Thanks to Yvonne and TerriK for the comments on yesterday’s kit post. My first comments! Whoo HOO! Thanks Sweets!
Thanks God. The rain is soft and pitter-pattery. Just the way the whole world likes it. Nice Job. And BTW, thanks for the sparrow visit this morning. You know what I can’t find the words to say.
Thanks Jack for seeing me in pain the other day and leading me to the heating pad, bringing me water and making dinner. I was so discombobulated I couldn’ t think of what I needed, but you did. Thanks Honey.
Thanks for finding me Michelle E. I needed to be found by you.
Happy Friday!
